Fire safety - Poem

Poem

Here is my poem about fire safety.

Everyone should keep looking at what they are cooking,
All wires shouldn't be tangled before fire starts at the wrong angle,
Duck and crawl out the door,
Always make a plan before you try and get in the van,
Always check on wire before it starts a fire,
Always blow candles before you run outside in your sandals,
Listen carefully for fire alarms before you touch something with your arm,
Better smell that smoke before you start to choke,
Never keep anything that causes fire alone before your house would be blown.

International Olympics

International olympics
Doping causes a lot trouble.

Today for reading we have learned about how the olympic athletes are cheating by using drugs.
Here are my opinions of this reading task.

What is doping?

Doping is a drug, Drugs is a type of pills & liquid that will play your brain. It may or may not destroy your body, your body will feel changed, drugs will help you win something or do something.

What are the consequences of cheating at the olympics?

The consequences of cheating:
  • Getting disqualified
  • Medals/Achievements stripped off
  • May or May not get banned

How do athletes get caught cheating.

Before the athletes compete in the olympics they have to take a test whether or not they are cheating by using drugs. They have to take a blood or a pee test. After they take the test, the scientist’s will freeze their test in the laboratory. After they unfreeze the athletes test, it will either turn green or stay the same colour. If the colour turns green then that means that the athletes cheated by using drugs to make them stronger or faster.

What do you think? What leads athletes to cheat?

My opinion is that I think that the athletes cheat because they want to break the world record and also they want to be known for having great ability. The reason why they want to be known is because they want the world to talk about how they are very talented at the sports they love doing.I also think that they should try to get the drug test faster so that they don't have to strip their medal off or fail their test.
Determination to win can lead cheating.
I think that determination leads to cheating is not true because people like usain bolt, He always tries his best and comes first with our doping or using drugs, Even like valie adams, she always comes a place even if she doesn't cheat or use drugs.

Math

Math
WALT: identify whether a question requires me to use the year 6 'part 6 Unknown' strategy or the year 6 'whole unknown strategy.

Today for math we had all given a paper worksheet, We had to solve the problem by using times tables & Divided by.

Here are my questions, Answers and strategy.

2/3 of 30 = 20
30 divided by 3 = 1o
10 x 2 = 20

3/4 of 16 = 12

12 divided by 4=3
3 x 3 = 9

3/5 of 15 = 9
15 divided by 5 = 3
3 x 3 = 9

4/5 of 10 = 8
10 divided by 5 = 2
2 x 4 = 8

2/7 of 21 = 6
21 divided by 7 = 3
3x2 = 6

2/6 of 12 = 4
12 divided by 6 = 2
2x2 = 4

2/3 of 6 =4
6 divided by 3 = 2
2 x 2 = 4

4/6 of 24 = 16
24 divided by 6 = 4
4 x 4 = 16

3/5 of 25 = 15
25 divided by 5 = 5
5x3=15

2/8 of 4 = 4
4 divided by 8=2
2x2=4

3/5 of 250 cm = 50cm
250cm divided by 5cm = 50cm
50cm x 3 = 150cm

2/3 of 12 = 8
12 divided by 3 = 4
4 x 2 = 8

3/8 of 32 = 12
32 divided by 8 = 4
4 x 3 = 12

4/5 of 16 =
20 divided by 5 = 100
100 x 4 = 400

My Home Group: Freaks
Political Impacts

(Jennifer)
The political crisis.
In Brazil there is a problems with the politics. The reason why? It all started in December where their was a corruption scandal that is was threatened to boil over. While that was happening the president Dilma Rousseff won the re-election for the second term in 2014. The corruption scandal aka the operation car wash was investigated for 2 years up to now. On the brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, reports that Vice president Michel Temer was accused of attempted murder for the corruption scandal.
Police & Legacy Impacts

(Paris)
The police and legacy crisis.
In Brazil there is a major problem with the policemen.Over the years that went past , innocents have been killed and now the people find it hard to walk the streets. In 2014, 580 people have died and in 2015, 645 people have been killed and that is a overall of 1,225 people who have died.Brazil police rank the worlds most deadly.
Economic
Impacts

(Amelia)
The games themselves haven’t been immune to budget cuts, but as brazil faces further cuts in the immediate future, it’s becoming clear that the money it has spent on the games could have been better utilized.
Environmental Impacts

(Losana)

Every olympics naturally comes with environmental problems, and questions. When the Associated Press analyzed the bay water, they found that it was still disgusting. The IOC won’t let themselves test on the water.
Health
Impacts

(Petra)
The zika virus is a minor health problem in Brazil.Doctors believed that the zika virus wouldn't have much of an impact on the olympics but a lot of athletes are still thinking of not going because of the virus.Others have chosen to get quarantined instead. The government sent military and health professionals to cleanse Rio of mosquitoes, and promised that athletes and fans wouldn’t face much risk.
